In Harvesting, I wanted to show the warmth of the light in the late evening, shining across the freshly cut hay. I wanted to show depth and space. The lines of the hay made this easy to achieve by drawing the viewer’s eyes into the painting. This field is located in Edgewater, Maryland, and is next to a house I used to rent.
